However, there was a need for Muslim in the past and there is a growing need today for unbiased commentary and criticism on the history, character, aims and flaws of Orientalism and to present the right picture to the world. There is confusion about Islam and the Prophet of Islam and Islamic origins in the minds of Western’s people has been attributed to Western scholars who have dedicated their lives to the study of Islam and to the reform of religion and the reform of the law. They are commonly called Orientalists. When did the Orientalist movement begin? What are the historical facts? What do scholars and researchers think about this? What were the main motives for the emergence of the Orientalist movement? Has the movement been limited to those same motives or have the motives changed over time? How did Oriental scholars gain access to Arabic publications and use Arabic books? The answers to all these questions are given in this article.
