Ferdinando Sardella in Assosiate Professor of the department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender Studies at Stockholm University in Sweden. Blakrisiddhants Saramati-The Context and Nigrupeaner of a Modern Hindu Personalist is the title of his Thesis for which he achieved PhD degree in 2010 from University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The thesis is the outcome of his research on the life and thoughts of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati who introduced an institution of modern Hindu Regenerationism known as Gauriya Math and Mission in 1918 in Kolkata. The work was published as a book by the name of Modern Hindu Personalism: The History, Life, and Thought of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati in 2012 from Oxford University Press. He has been distinguished as a research fellow of Oxford Center for Hindu Studies. He researches contiuously on Hindu and Vaisnava religons and diverse elements of Bengal studies. In this interview, conducted by Dr. Saymon Zakaria, a Bangladeshi folklorists and expert of Vaisnava literature and culture, Ferdinando Sardella shares his insights of Chaitanya Deva's philosophy and lessons sourced in Caitanyacbaritamrita, Chaitanyarwagata and Chaitanyamangár and many other literary and living resources around the societies. In one side, Chaitanya Philosophy outstretched over the globe. There are Chaitanyya Center in England and Germany, But the primary literature, hand-writen manuscripts, is getting progressively lost. The converstaion also reveals the significance of the study of Bangla language and culture in Swedish academic and scholarly spheres However, there are many different other texts, such as, written by Gour Goswami and others, critical to study to examine the time of middle Bengal, then arts, and language. The discussion also hints the relative clements both complimentary and conflicting in Vaisnava religion and Baul doctrine.
