حضورﷺکےنسب و بچپن سے متعلق غیر معتبر روایات کا مطالعہ

Although the Sīra writers, in general, have been trying their best to be careful in including unreliable narrations in their works on the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, numerous unauthentic traditions have been incorporated in Sīra books. One of the main reasons for this issue seems to be that the Sīra writers did not generally observe the principles and methodology of the Muḥaddithīn in examining the traditions. To the present writers, in order to examine the narrations and texts of the traditions taken in Sīra writings, it is necessary to turn towards the principles and methodology of Muḥaddithīn in examining the hadīth narrations. The present article studies some of the prominent traditions regarding the lineage and childhood of the Holy Prophetﷺ in selected Urdu books. It finds that many popular Urdu books on Sīra contain a number of unreliable traditions on the subject.
