«We lifts him up» : An Aspect of Language and Style in «Castle Rackrent». «We lifts him up» : fait de langue et effet de style dans Castle Rackrent is a tentative contribution to the interpretation of the character of Thady Quirk. This article discusses a set of linguistic forms recurring with varying frequency in the speech of Old Thady. It tries to shed new light on the complexity of this character by using the work of researchers in the field of the psychomechanic theory of language.
