Predarea vocabularului limbii române ca limbă străină: strategii și tehnici cu suport în limba engleză

The article analyzes the importance of effective vocabulary teaching in the process of acquiring Romanian as a foreign language for international students, emphasizing the most efficient strategies and techniques tailored to learners' needs. Starting from the idea that vocabulary forms the basis of communication, several teaching strategies have been developed to promote learner-centered instruction, facilitate learning through image association, and rely on real-life contexts and memorization techniques through repetition. The article also highlights the importance of educational support and refers to several teaching materials currently available within the Romanian community of specialists, as well as the assistance provided by visual aids, digital platforms, and recordings that can support learning. Teaching is approached from a functional-communicative perspective, which allows words to be integrated into meaningful contexts adapted to the learners' linguistic levels and interests. Additionally, emphasis is placed on the importance of techniques involving project-based learning and group collaboration, which help increase learner motivation and foster a positive learning environment - one in which assessment is not perceived as coercive. Nevertheless, it is emphasized that evaluation is continuous, based on immediate feedback, with a particular focus on both productive and receptive learning.
