Non-violence Education of the Bhagabad Gita and the Mahabharata

There is separate nature of mind sets between Western and Eastern. The Western mind believes in enquiry and doubt, dissection and analysis, externally oriented and materially successful. The eastern mind believes in Shraddha, integration and synthesis, internally oriented, spiritually fulfilling.<br>The most of the Indian ancient scriptures are subtle and symbolic in nature. The interpretation of dharma is not meant for communal, it is spiritual and universal. Both the Gita and the Mahabharata preach ahimsa everywhere. Neither the Gita nor the Mahabharata is violent in nature. The war in the Gita and Mahabharata meant for to fulfil the Kshatriya dharma to protect the world from the reign of injustice. It preaches for maintaining equanimity in life battle and doing duty without carrying consequences. <br>The Mahabharata preaches Ahimsa paramo dharma. As a part of the Mahabharata, the Bhagabad Gita is the gospel of humanity delivered by Lord Krishna to the people through human representative Arjun his disciple. It deals with metaphysics, spirituality, religious outlook and ethical codes. It gives importance to the selfless activities. It pleads for renunciation in action and renunciation of action. The Gita is a philosophy of Karma (action) based on Jnana (knowledge) and supported by Bhakti (devotion). It preaches that to fight against evils is the duty of man. Disinterested, dispassionate, detached devotion is the central idea of teaching of the Gita. According to this, self- effort is the key of success. Developing balanced mind, humility, uprightness, purity, self-control are good qualities to be inculcated. Egoism, laziness, fear, prejudice, brooding should be rejected. It holds that means are more important than ends. If the path is right it leads the individual to goal. It inspires the learner to see the reality for himself and makes him capable of carving out his own path to righteousness according to the innate nature or thus leading to a journey in excellence for each movement of life as an offering to the presiding deity or the revealed divinity within each individual. <br>The Bhagavad-Gita provided with a righteous purpose and noble cause to participate in such wars and take the outcome with indifference. The scripture is not only about the real wars in which soldiers participate but also the war of life in which we all participate. The Bhagavad-Gita provides a safe and practical solution to deal with the unpleasant actions one has to perform in the battle of life as part of one's survival. There are three things in the Gita which are spiritually significant, almost symbolic, and typical of the profoundest relations and problems of the spiritual life and of human existence at its roots; they are - the divine personality of the teacher, his characteristic relations with his disciple and the occasion of his teaching. Due to spiritual and universal nature the Bhagabad Gita is widely accepted globally. Millions of influential people from both west and East appraised its value and accept as a manual of life.
