Kızıl Deli (Seyyid Ali) Sultan Zaviya which is situated Dimetoka in Greece today is analized
in this research. The state of one of the Bektashi Zaviya, Kızıl Deli Zaviya between 1401-
1852 is examined through the sourches of Ottoman Archive documents. The establishment
and the foundation of this Zaviya are documented according to the sons (evlâdları) of the
founder, Zaviya’s connection to religious sect, Kızıl Deli nick name and customshouse,
archive license documents, and other sourches. As a result, it has been found out that
Kızıl Deli Zaviya is accepted to Ottoman judiciary system with a domain document given
by Sultan Bayezid I. The Zaviya’s privileges and exemptions were determined by Musa
Çelebi’s “biti” (1412), and it has been seen that the foundation was established on the
territory given to Seyyid Ali Sultan who founded and transferred it to his sons. This order
and regulation continued on until 1826. While most of the Zaviya Foundations were closed
down around 1826, most of the properties of Kızıl Deli Zaviya were layed hands, but the
Zaviya was not totally closed. The administration of the Zaviya was left to Evkâf-ı Hümayun.
Turbedar was assigned to the shrines located in the Zaviya, and some real estate was left
to the turbedars. Even the foundation of the lodge was reduced and preserved, and income
was given to the mausoleums of the Kızıl Deli son.
