Uvišestručeni tekstovi – varijante Krležine Legende

View through CrossRef
The paper uses two versions of Krleža’s play The Legend in order to study the effects of creating such variations. In the first part of the paper, insights from Davor Kapetanić’s textual criticism (1999a) are used to illuminate Krleža’s obsessive rewriting of his works. Krleža’s writing process is then compared to similar modernist practices analysed from the perspective of genetic criticism by Dirk Van Hulle (2004, 2022). In the second part of the paper, interpretations by Boris Senker (1993) and Morana Čale (2016) are employed to comparatively analyse the two dramatic variants and link them to other texts that shed light on Krleža’s creative process.
