View through CrossRef
The article represents the little known layer of Brusov’s poetry, i.e. war correspondence. They were not republished for 100 years and remained on the pages of the newspaper. Brusov`s correspondences are specific. He saw and described the war as a writer. There is no praising of Russian command in his correspondences, but the description of the characters of Russian soldiers who resisted in extremely hard conditions. Brusov’s innovations are emphasized in this article, which are: the use of documentary materials, the description of tanks and airplanes, being involved in the fights. The critical attitude towards the German literature of that period is also shown in his essays.
