Bodhidharma was a Buddhist priest who is said to have been the transmitter of Zen (Chinese: Chan, Sanskrit: Dhyana, and English: meditation) to China. He was the third child of a Tamil king of the Pallava Dynasty. Bodhidharma is attributed with building up the acclaimed Shaolin School of Chinese Martial Arts which is referred to as Tripitaka Dharma Master.
