In January 2015, a salvage excavation was conducted in the courtyard of a residential building on 16 Ha-Porzim Street in Jerusalem (Permit No. A-7302; map ref. 220038-58/630465-80), after ancient remains were discovered in a preliminary inspection prior to the construction of an elevator and a security room in the building. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the owner, M. Lecker, was directed by Z. Turgeman-Yaffe, with the assistance of S. Leshem (preliminary inspections), N. Malka (administration), M. Kunin and A. Hajian (surveying and drafting), A. Fadida (photography), N. Zak (plan), A. Shimron (geoarcheology) and A. Weigmann of the IAA Jerusalem region.
