Stage costume for Castellana for I Puritani

Theatrical costume for the character of a castellana in Vincenzo Bellini's I Puritani, a play directed by Guido Salvini in 1989, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. The conception and design of the costume are based on the figures of Giorgio De Chirico who inaugurated the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 1933 with the costumes for this opera. The costume - bodice (short sleeve) and skirt (long to the feet) - is of fantastic inspiration in that it is detached from the historical period in which the action takes place. De Chirico brought to the costume the painting that made him famous throughout the world.
