Braided rope belt with decoration of nasa shells and fruit shells

It is not clear from the literature whether this belt was a costume for men or women, or both.‖ Belt of braided yellowish-brown fiber rope that has rows of strung black beads, cut from nut shells or fruit pits, across its entire surface on the front. On this dark background there are large geometrical decorations of white nassa shells. The decorative motifs are diamonds, edges and individual shells. The two ends of the belt each have four eyelets made of braided rope.
