Markt und Rathaus Wernigerode

In front of the beautiful backdrop of the Wernigeröder Rathenhaus there is a colorful bustle on the market. Stalls are built on the marketplace. The merchants offer their goods to the passing people. In order to protect the goods, umbrellas are stretched over the market stalls. Paul Betyna was born in Bromberg near Berlin in 1887 and died in 1967 in Wernigerode. He studied at the Paris Academy and in Berlin. He then worked in Berlin until 1943. His Berlin apartment was bombed out during World War II and he moved to Wernigerode.
