resin fir

View through Europeana Collections
A hilly landscape near a village with heaven lying above it determines the background of the image. The focus of the picture is an imposing spruce of straight growth and considerable age. A grazing fence runs behind it. Spruces, also known as resin dancing, have become a symbol of the resin landscape. The picture is signed at the bottom right. Annie Reinecke was born on 27 April 1880 in Braunschweig and died on 22 July 1967 in Wernigerode. She spent six years teaching at the painting school of Ms. Beyer-Rose, probably in Wolfenbüttel.
