Le théâtre de Evgueni Schwartz et le discours politique de l’opposition russe

Evgeny Schwartz’s plays and the political discourse of the Russian opposition Fairy tales by the Soviet playwright Evgeny Schwartz (1896-1958) are among the most quoted literary works in contemporary Russian political discourse, starting with “The Dragon.” The representatives of the opposition and those who sympathize with them use lines from these plays to describe the phenomena which they reject in the present Russian civil society. Why does Schwartz’s theater provide material for such references ? What meaning do references to Schwartz's texts introduce in the explanations of the political situation and the state of society ? And how do they promote understanding of the political discourse ? We aim to answer these questions, through the examination and analysis of statements made by the guests of Echo of Moscow radio station, as well as by the authors of the posted on its site from 2008 to 2016.
