Tommaso Landolfi e Narratori russi

Tommaso Landolfi’s anthology Narratori russi was published in 1948, but the adventurous creation of the volume began in June 1941. Landolfi started working on the anthology twenty years after the publishing panorama of translated Russian literature had been enriched, thanks to the frenetic dissemination of activities of Slavic studies in the early 1920s in Italy. This article examines both the work of Landolfi in the context of the literature translated from Russian in that period and the “history of anthologies” of Russian literature in Italy. Particular attention is given to the structure and canon of the anthology Landolfi offered to the reader.
