DON FRANCISCO FERNÁNDEZ DE CÓRDOBA, ABAD DE RUTEResumen: En este trabajo abordamos la figura de D. Francisco Fernández de Córdoba, el Abad de Rute, admirado historiador, genealogista, erudito humanista y experto arqueólogo. Participó de manera activa en la polémica suscitada por la aparición de las Soledades de Góngora, su amigo y ambos racioneros en la Catedral de Córdoba, siempre en defensa del nuevo estilo poético que iniciaba D. Luis. Perteneciente a la gran casa de los Fernández de Córdoba ya que era hijo ilegítimo de D. Luis Fernández de Córdoba, señor de la Zubia. Se recogen datos de su biografía aunque existen muchas lagunas documentales para completarla. Palabras clave: Abad de Rute, Fernández de Córdoba, gongorismo, erudición, Arqueología, cartas. He participated actively in the controversy aroused by the appearance of Soledades de Góngora, his friend and both racioneros in the Cathedral of Córdoba, always in defense of the new poetic style that D. Luis initiated. Belonging to the great family of the Fernández de Córdoba since he was the illegitimate son of D. Luis Fernández de Córdoba, the lord of the Zubia. Data is collected from his biography although there are many documentary gaps to complete it. Key words: Abbot of Rute, Fernández de Córdoba, gongorismo, erudition, Archeology, letters.
