Copy of a hinged half of a chess game with mythological motifs and enameled edge depicted on jasper and mountain crystal fields, originally in the collegiate church of Aschaffenburg, by Johann Klipphahn (vom Beeiner vergebener Titel)

Found in the stone table of St. Valentine’s altar of the collegiate church in Aschaffenburg, now owned by the historic association. Two thirds of the original size. The object is neither identical to board 62 nor board 63 in the book, as Klipphahn has chosen in his style copy image motifs from both halves of the chessboard.
