Originally probably part of a reliquary or a larger library ceiling and only later used to decorate the code. “Byzanthine art of the Xth or Xth century.” Probably from the time of the Würzburg bishop Heinrich I, Count of Rotenburg (995-1018). The initials, "J.K. sc."indicate Johann Klipphahn.
