PERCEPTION OF THE COMMUNITY OF MUARA TEWEH CITY NORTH BARITO DISTRICT AGAINST THE STRUGGLE COMMANDER OF BATUR

For heroic values ​​to be well embedded in people's lives, good knowledge is also needed regarding the history of the struggle carried out by Commander Batur against Dutch colonialism in the Barito area, in this case, especially for the people of Muara Teweh City, North Barito Regency. This research will examine the extent of knowledge of the people of Muara Teweh City, North Barito Regency regarding the struggle of Commander Batur. This research aims to describe the background to the Banjar-Barito War in 1859-1905 and explain the perceptions of the people of Muara Teweh City, North Barito Regency regarding the struggle of Commander Batur in the Banjar-Barito War of 1859-1905. This research was conducted using historical research methods. The first stage is the Heuristic, the data collection stage. Furthermore, data sources were obtained through 3 things, namely oral sources, document sources, and object sources. Next is Criticism, both external criticism and internal criticism. Then Interpretation is the stage for interpreting, concluding, and assembling historical facts from data that has gone through the criticism stage. The final stage is Historiography. The results of the research show that the perception or view of the people of Muara Teweh City towards the struggle of Panglima Batur is generally positive. Many of the people of Muara Teweh City still know how Panglima Batur fought and made Commander Batur a role model who is highly respected because he fought with dared to fight the invaders in the Banjar-Barito War 1859-1905. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the people of Muara Teweh City consider Commander Batur a role model who is highly respected because he fought bravely against the invaders in the Banjar-Barito War of 1859-1905.
