Menelisik Kompromi Teologis dan Etis atas Polemik Penelitian dan Terapi Stem Cell Embrionik

AbstractEmbryonic stem cell research and therapy have sparked significant polemics among scientists, theologians and ethicists. The controversy is rooted in ethical and theological issues related to the moral status of embryos and the potential harm to egg providers. This study aims to examine the outcomes of theological and ethical compromises in addressing the polemics over embryonic stem cell research and therapy. With a focus on how the polemics can find a middle ground that allows the advancement of biotechnology without sacrificing moral values. Through the analysis of several research results and literature, it explores the various perspectives and attempts at compromise that have been proposed and implemented. The findings suggest that while divergent views remain, compromise approaches can bridge the gap between scientific advancement and ethical values, creating a foundation for the responsible practice of stem cell research and therapy. Kontroversi ini berakar pada isu-isu etis dan teologis terkait status moral embrio dan potensi bahaya bagi penyedia sel telur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelisik hasil kompromi teologis dan etis dalam menyikapi polemik penelitian dan terapi stem cell embrionik. Dengan fokus pada bagaimana polemik yang terjadi dapat menemukan jalan tengah yang memungkinkan kemajuan bioteknologi tanpa mengorbankan nilai-nilai moral. Melalui analisis beberapa hasil penelitian dan literatur mengeksplorasi berbagai perspektif dan upaya kompromi yang telah diusulkan dan diterapkan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun perbedaan pandangan tetap ada, pendekatan kompromi dapat menjembatani kesenjangan antara kemajuan ilmiah dan nilai-nilai etis, menciptakan dasar bagi praktik penelitian dan terapi stem cell yang bertanggung jawab.
