In the Interim Budget for 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for achieving a developed India, known as Viksit Bharat, by the year 2047. Emphasizing the government's commitment to inclusive development, she underscored the active efforts towards transforming India into a developed nation and prioritizing the empowerment of its people. Viksit Bharat, translating to "Developed India," symbolizes the government's ambition to elevate the country to developed status by its 100th year of independence in 2047. The foundation of Viksit Bharat is built upon four pillars: Youth (Yuva), Poor (Garib), Women (Mahila), and Farmers (Kisan). The vision for Viksit Bharat envisions a prosperous India that integrates modern infrastructure with nature, ensuring equal opportunities for citizens across regions to fulfill their potential. On December 11, 2023, the Prime Minister launched "Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth," emphasizing the pivotal role of educational institutions in shaping individuals and stressing that a nation is truly developed when its people experience growth.
