In April 2018, a short-term salvage excavation was conducted at the historical bathhouse of Hammam el-'Ein (Hammam al-Ayn) on el-Wad (Ha-Gay) Street in the Old City of Jerusalem (Permit No. A-8236; map ref. 222192-200/631609-18; Fig. 1), preceding the installation of a sewage pump. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the United Nations Population Division (UNPD), was directed by Y. Tchekhanovets with the assistance of S. Cohen (administration), V. Essman (surveying), D. Tanami (preparatory archaeological survey and metal detecting) and E.I. Delerzon (drafting). Thanks are due to colleagues, A. Re'em, E. Kagan, N. Sapir and H. Barbé, of the IAA Jerusalem district, for their valuable advice.
