Likumdevēja zema leģitimitāte un zema sabiedrības uzticēšanās likumdevējam: vai viens un tas pats?

This article explores how legitimacy and trust, although intertwined, remain conceptually distinct in relation to parliamentary authority. Seven legitimacy dimensions are introduced – sociological, moral, legal, political, performance-based, cultural, and technocratic – to demonstrate their potential effects on trust. Despite overall institutional legitimacy, a shortfall in any dimension can rapidly erode confidence, whereas robust performance or expertise can momentarily sustain trust even amidst other shortcomings.
