Porträt Georg Friedrich Händel

This lithography was made after the presentation of a graphic by John Faber, which in turn dates back to the Handel portrait of Thomas Hudson from 1748/49. The latter painting is now in the state and university library Hamburg. In this sheet the manufacturer of the printing plate, Maxim Gauci, has also wrapped Handel’s upper body in a cloth. The resemblance to Faber’s portrait is no longer quite as strong as Rudolph Schuster or Alexander Waldow did.
