Honorius

AbstractFlavius Honorius (Western Roman emperor 395–423CE), the son of Theodosius I and Aelia Flavia Flaccilla, was born in 385. His reign was ineffectual and symptomatic of the weakening and ultimate collapse of the Roman west. After Theodosius' death in 395, the ten‐year old Honorius had been given the emperorship of Rome's western provinces, while his brother Arcadius ruled the east. Stilicho, a Romanized Vandal and Honorius' chief general (magister militum), all but ruled as regent during the young emperor's early years.
