Menggali Etika Lingkungan Buddhisme dari Kearifan Lokal Sadranan

The lack study of Buddhism and local wisdom has prompted researcher to examine a correlation between Buddhism and local wisdom, especially Sadranan in Depok village. Study on the topic of local wisdom is unique to explore the meanings that exist inside of Sadranan. This research will try to explore the environmental ethics of Buddhism embedded in Sadranan. The study explores the meanings contained in Sadranan to be a Buddhist ethics has to be done with the environment. Meaning that has been delivered by the Buddhists in the hamlet of Depok, will be studied with the theory of meaning construction systems related to social culture. After extracting meaning contained in the local wisdom that has been delivered by sadranan in Depok, it can be concluded that there are ethical environments in accordance with environmental ethics of Buddhism. Environmental ethics of Buddhism from the local wisdom contained in the form of memahayu hayuning bawono, Buddhists should be in unity with nature, and nature is source for life. Actually, Sadranan is a medium for respecting the nature. In other words, the Sadranan is the binder of people to respect nature rather than exploited of nature.Key Words: Environmental Ethics, Buddhism, Local Wisdom of Sadranan.
