The Romanization of Anglicisms
View through CrossRef
The adoption of Anglicisms in communication was justified by the usefulness of designating new extra-linguistic realities from various fields of activity, resulting in an obvious enrichment of the vocabulary of the Romanian language. Many of the terms, especially those introduced from the beginning, have adapted perfectly phonetically and graphically and are used in the active lexicon, so that most of them are no longer aware of their English origin, acquiring full rights to be considered units of the Romanian language (aisberg, cip, clovn, fotbal, hochei, lider, pulover, meci, miting, seif, trenci, trening). At the current stage, a number of anglicisms occur, especially in the online environment, in an adapted orthographic form. This fact motivated us to approach in this article also the degree of graphic assimilation presented by some Anglicisms, with a frequent circulation in use, registered or not in the lexicographic works. At the same time, we are trying, more or less forced, to establish some models of Romanian writing of Anglicisms necessary in communication

Title: The Romanization of Anglicisms
Description:
At the same time, we are trying, more or less forced, to establish some models of Romanian writing of Anglicisms necessary in communication.
