A silver collar is a loose collar worn together with the colt, the Sami costume, inside or outside the v-ringed neck opening. It is made of clothes, a high-grade woolen fabric, and is richly decorated with tin thread, which is stitched with a laying stitch. The silk and silver ores are the crown of the work and the one that has given the collar these names. It is a solemn garment for women in Lulesamic and Southern Sami areas.
