Studi Deskriptif Self-Presentation pada Roleplayer di Twitter

Abstract. The phenomenon of imitating characters, especially artists, is now rife in cyberspace. This phenomenon is known as roleplayer. Various platforms are used to play roleplayer, especially twitter. This study aims to describe the self-presentation of roleplayers on Twitter. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires using Google Form. The research sample is roleplay players on Twitter who use Korean artist characters, aged 18-24 years, and domiciled in Bandung. Obtained 104 respondents. The measuring instrument of this research is The Self Presentation on Facebook Questionnaire (SPFBQ) by [1]. The data were categorized and analyzed using descriptive analysis using SPSS software. The results of the analysis stated that from 104 respondents 19 people showed false self aspects, 67 people showed real self aspects, and 18 people showed ideal self aspects when playing roleplay. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the self-presentation picture of roleplayers on Twitter mostly shows the real self aspect, namely they use the face of an idol that they like but shows themselves in roleplay. Berbagai platform digunakan untuk bermain roleplayer, terutama Twitter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran mengenai self presentation pada roleplayer di Twitter. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner menggunakan Google Form. Sampel penelitian yaitu para pemain roleplay di Twitter yang menggunakan karakter artis korea, berusia 18-24 tahun, dan berdomisili di Bandung. Diperoleh 104 responden. Alat ukur penelitian ini menggunakan The Self Presentation on Facebook Questionnaire (SPFBQ) oleh [1]. Data dikategorisasikan dan dianlisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif menggunakan software SPSS. Hasil analisis menyatakan dari 104 responden 19 orang menunjukkan aspek diri false self, 67 orang menunjukkan aspek diri real self, dan 18 orang menunjukkan aspek diri ideal self ketika sedang bermain roleplay. Dari analisis disimpulkan bahwa gambaran self-presentation pada roleplayer di Twitter sebagaian besar menunjukkan aspek diri real self yaitu mereka menggunakan wajah idola yang mereka senangi namun menunjukkan diri sendiri dalam roleplay.
