Shikimaroga Shi様 Series of courtesans with self-written poems. The title cartouche shows a pattern in shibori-technique Die 様 Die 様 Die. Shikimaro continues the style of Utamaro here, but draws very narrow and long figures. Especially the faces are very narrow and long, which adds to the effect of the overflowing hair jewelry. The high-ranking courtesan Nahiki with a described tanzaku (Die Die Die Paper band for poems) in his hand. The kimono is decorated with cherry blossoms (sakura) and spearheads.
