Pengaruh Self-Compassion terhadap Future Anxiety pada Fresh Graduate

Abstract. Today, many fresh graduates face challenges in entering the workforce. Intense competition, lack of experience, and uncertainty about the future can trigger high anxiety. In dealing with anxiety, one factor that has the potential to help reduce it is self-compassion. This study aims to determine how much self-compassion affects future anxiety in fresh graduates with 315 respondents. The research method used is quantitative with a causality design. The measuring instrument used in this study is the self compassion measuring instrument from Kristin Neff (2003) self compassion scale which has been adapted into Indonesian by Sugianto, Suwartono & Sutanto (2020), and the future anxiety measuring instrument, namely the dark future scale from Zbigniew Zaleski (2017). The sampling technique in this study used the accidental technique from Silalahi (2015), the results showed that future anxiety in fresh graduates was in the high category, as many as 232 people or 74% of the respondents in this study. (β = -0.244, p < 0.05) The results of hypothesis testing state that self-compassion has a significant effect on future anxiety, which is 0.244 or 24.4% self-compassion affects future anxiety and 75.6% is a factor outside this research model. although self-compassion helps reduce future anxiety, the effect is limited. This indicates the need for other factors, such as career readiness.
Abstrak. Saat ini banyak fresh graduate menghadapi tantangan dalam memasuki dunia kerja. Persaingan yang ketat, minimnya pengalaman, serta ketidakpastian mengenai masa depan dapat memicu kecemasan yang tinggi. Dalam menghadapi kecemasan, salah satu faktor yang berpotensi membantu menguranginya adalah self-compassion. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh self-compassion terhadap future anxiety p Anxiety, Fresh Graduate.ada fresh graduate dengan jumlah responden 315 orang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain kausalitas. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah alat ukur self compassion dari Kristin Neff (2003) self compassion scale yang telah diadaptasi kedalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Sugianto, Suwartono & Sutanto (2020), dan alat ukur future anxiety yaitu dark future scale dari Zbigniew Zaleski (2017). Teknik sampling pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik accidental dari Silalahi (2015), Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa future anxiety pada fresh graduate berada dalam kategori tinggi yaitu sebanyak 232 orang atau 74% responden penelitian ini. (β = -0.244, p < 0.05) hasil uji hipotesis menyatakan bahwa self-compassion berpengaruh dan signifikan terhadap future anxiety yaitu sebesar 0.244 atau 24.4% self compassion mempengaruhi future anxiety dan 75.6% merupakan faktor diluar model penelitian ini. meskipun self-compassion membantu mengurangi future anxiety, efeknya terbatas. Hal ini mengindikasikan perlunya faktor lain, seperti kesiapan karier dan intervensi psikologis, untuk membantu fresh graduate menghadapi ketidakpastian masa depan.
