Abonir zikh af der bibliotek ‘Yidishe shrayber’” (The ‘Yiddish Writer’ library - 1,000 folios 75 volumes of works by Yiddish classics, Soviet writers and authors from abroad. Yiddish reader! Subscribe to to the ‘Yiddish Writer’ library) in original Yiddish - advertised the series published by the Co-op publishing house Kultur-Lige in Kiev. Kultur-Lige (Culture League) was founded in Kiev in 1918. Eventually, it was dismantled by the Soviet authorities in the late 1920s. Among other activities, Kultur-Lige run ambitious publishing program aimed at dissemination of Yiddish literature and promoting Yiddish language. As a result, 4 book series for children and 5 book series for adults (including the “Bibliotek Yidishe shrayber”) were published in the 1920s.
