GANYAYYAKI NA ƘASAR HAUSA DA TASIRINSU WAJEN HAƊIN MAGUNGUNAN GARGAJIYA

Hausa land is blessed with a lot of water and land resources. They includes fish and water animals, land animals, birds, trees, shrubs, grasses, iron, salt, potassium, gold, silver, etc. A native Hausa speaker make use of the wisdom given to him by Allah (S.W.T.) in maximum utilization of these natural resources given to him within his domain. A leaf  has a significant influence on the life style of Hausa people. This research titled “Ganyayyaki Na Ƙasar Hausa Da Tasirinsu Wajen Haɗin Magungunan Gargajiya” is to traditionally measure the extent to which leaves plays significant role in the field of traditional medicine of the Hausa people. The methodology for data collection was the use of written documents from scholars, oral interviews with traditional medicine practitioners and elderly people and personal experience of the authors on the functions of leaves for medicinal purposes. The research is basically limitted to Hausa society. The research discovered that leaves in Hausa land plays a vital role in the traditional medicine of Hausa people. Similarly, the research discusses the various definitions of leaves, where and when to get it in Hausa land. It also addressed the categories of people that mostly use leaves, the taste of leaves and  problems encountered during collection, processing, or even after consuming leaves for medicinal purposes.
