Praetorius properly begins with the sacred trumpets of Moses, choosing to ignore both Tubal, a descendant of Cain (Gen. 4), and Miriam, a mere woman percussionist (Exod. 15) There is no basis for the assumption, which Praetorius makes here, that the trumpets of Moses and Gideon were identical in size.
