Gambaran Karakteristik Pasien Keratitis di RSUD Welas Asih Bandung Tahun 2024

Abstract. Keratitis is an inflammation of the cornea that can cause visual impirment and serious complications if not treated properly. This study aims to describe the characteristics of keratitis patients at Welas Asih Regional Public Hospital Bandung in 2024. This study is a quantitative descriptive study using secondary data from patients medical records. The sampling methode used was purposive sampling, amounting to 73 people. The variables studied included age, gender, type of keratitis, type of infectious keratitis, diagnosed eye, and visual acuity at the beginning and end of the visit. The results showed that most keratitis patients were aged ≥18 years (79.5%) and the majority were male(52%). The most common type of keratitis was non-infectious keratitis (67.2%), with some cases being infectious keratitis. Most patients had keratitis in the left eye (45.2%). Visual acuity at the beginning of the visit showed that the majority was in the range of 6/6 - 6/18 (47%), and for visual acuity at the end of the visit, the majority was in the range of 6/6 - 6/18 (51%). The conclusion of this study shows that keratitis patients at Welas Asih Hospital are predominantly adults with diverse clinical characteristics. Abstrak. Keratitis merupakan peradangan kornea yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan penglihatan hingga komplikasi serius apabila tidak ditangani dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan karakteristik pasien keratitis di RSUD Welas Asih Bandung tahun 2024. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan data sekunder rekam medis. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, berjumlah 73 orang. Variabel yang diteliti meliputi usia, jenis kelamin, jenis keratitis, jenis keratitis infeksius, mata yang terdiagnosis, serta visual acuity pada awal dan akhir kunjungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pasien keratitis berusia ≥18 tahun (79,5%) dan mayoritas berjenis kelamin laki-laki (52%). Jenis keratitis yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah jenis keratitis non-infeksius (67,2%), dengan sebagian kasus merupakan keratitis infeksius. Sebagian besar pasien mengalami keratitis pada mata kiri (45,2%). Visual acuity pada awal kunjungan menunjukkan mayoritas dalam rentang 6/6 - 6/18 (47%), dan untuk visual acuity pada akhir kunjungan mayoritas dalam rentang 6/6 - 6/18 (51%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pasien keratitis di RSUD Welas Asih didominasi oleh usia dewasa dengan gambaran karakteristik klinis yang beragam.
