Heat Treating of High-Alloy Irons

View through CrossRef
Abstract The cast iron alloys discussed in this article are alloyed for increased abrasion resistance, for strength and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures, and for improved corrosion resistance. They include the high-alloy graphitic irons and the high-alloy white irons. Heat treatment practices for austenitic ductile and gray irons, high-silicon irons, nickel-chromium white irons, and high-chromium white irons are discussed in this article.
