Stitched pipe of the reservist year 1906/08 of the Comp. 2. Upper Rhine Inf. Reg No 99

The tobacco pipe has the lover Adem Deller of the Comp. 2. Upper Rhine Inf. Reg No 99. The pipe is richly decorated with horn and wood carvings and has a rhombus, which is pointed out on the surfaces with 2, 99 and Cp. Among them is a porcelain element with the depiction of a Prussian officer and on the reverse is described as “For the memory of my service.” The front of the pipe head shows three greeting soldiers under an archway and the following inscription is above the picture: “Gr. Deller/Whoever never sat his brod with tears as/Whoever sat by father Philipp/Whoever was a germ night druchgebrant/Won never be a reservist genant” Between the next text below, an eagle spreading the wings is shown and the text "Halt wer da/Dir Reservists of the 4th Comp. On both sides of the pipe head, oak leaves are depicted with the acorn fruit and on the back there is "To commemorate the service. The 64 reservists of the year are listed in 2 rows (Deller 10. In the left row). The pipe head has a lid made of metal in the shape of a pickle hood.
