FORMATION OF CHOREOGRAPHIC EDUCATION AT THE IVAN FRANKO NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LVIV

The history of the introduction of the choreography specialty in the educational process of the Department of Directing and Choreography of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv has been covered. The subject of the study is the formation of the school of higher education of choreographic art at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The goal is analytical coverage of the process of creation and development of the choreographic education system at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The task: to characterize the department's teams, to analyze the artistic and pedagogical views of the department's teachers through interviews.
Clarification and achievement of the research goal were determined by the following methods of scientific research: historical research method – provided an opportunity to get acquainted with the facts of the history of the creation and implementation of the study of choreography at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv; descriptive method – allowed to describe scientific and creative achievements, creative laboratories and projects of the department; the analytical method made it possible to work out the art history, source base and interviews on which the work is based; method of generalization – used to write general summaries and conclusions of the history of the creation of the department.
Conclusions: The formation of choreographic education at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv took place thanks to a well-chosen composition of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical workers, most of them are people’s and Honored Artists of Ukraine, Honored cultural workers, artists, teachers with academic titles and scientific degrees. The department has formed a clear system of organizing the educational process, which is provided by the author’s scientific and methodical complexes of educational components. Educational and professional dance theaters, creative laboratories and ensembles of classical, folk, modern dance and contact improvisation, whose repertoire is formed from the best examples of choreographic art, were founded to form the creative potential of the graduates of the department. As part of scientific work, the department systematically conducts scientific and methodical seminars and meetings of the methodical council of the department’s teaching staff. The department organizes and conducts all-Ukrainian and international scientific and practical conferences on this scientific issue. A student scientific circle is organized, the result of the work of the student scientific circle is annual all-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences and the publication of a collection of scientific articles “Choreographic culture – artistic dimensions”. For a long time, the training of choreographers is an integral part of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, where the Department of Directing and Choreography of the Faculty of Culture and Arts is a generator of creative and scientific projects that update the issues of scientific and artistic reflection, analysis and study of choreographic art in Ukraine and the world.
