Sedimentary bodies identification technique applied in Paleogene, Panshan sub-sag, western Liaohe basin and its effect analysis

View through CrossRef
Panshan sub-sag, western sag of Liaohe basin, is a narrow and long sedimentary sub-sag. The materials in this region which come from East and West sedimentary source formed a series of strata with great exploration potential. According to the comparison of seismic strata of Panshan sub-sag, the 4th Member of Shahejie Formation is well developed in the region. According to the reconstruction of original deposition geomorphology of this region, we conclude that there is coastal sedimentary fan body controlled by Xing West fault zone. We use various geophysical techniques to predict and depict a series of near-shore submarine fan reservoirs. Base on the construction of Sequence framework, we undertake overall research about the deposition reservoirs of each system tract in the 3rd Member of Shahejie Formation, and identified the multi-phase river sand bodies of the 3rd Member of Shahejie Formation. The XX2 well, which deployed in this region, revealed the existence of sedimentary fan body in the 4th Member of Shahejie Formation and obtained industrial oil-flow in multi-stage watercourses in the 3rd Member of Shahejie Formation, gained a new exploration prospect in this region. Through exploration practices and research, Geophysical Research Institute of BGP formed its own geological and geophysical technique focused on prediction and depiction of rift-depression basin of the Paleogene era.
