Nilai Budaya yang Tergantung dalam Tradisi Sadranan di Kaki Gunung Merapi

Indonesia has a variety of cultures with distinctive traditions that are well known to foreign countries. One of region is in the Boyolali area or more precisely at the foot of Mount Merapi, known as "sadranan". The aim is to find out the rules contained in the sadranan tradition and how the sadranan tradition procession is. The method used is the semiotics method or content analysis. The results of the research, year by year the sadranan tradition is always carried out by the local community, it is done to apply the cultural, religious, social values contained in the sadranan tradition and more importantly is to be grateful for what has been achieved and to remember the ancestors which is gone. The implementation of the tradition is carried out by the community in accordance with the order of the procession that has been handed down by the ancestors, which starts from the dhikr together, festivity, cleaning the tomb, and hospitality to the homes of residents. In this research, the involvement with Javanese customs is very strong, namely keeping the traditions of the ancestors who have preceded routinely and following the sequence of events according to the teachings of the ancestors.
