Ink on paper. Monochrome. View of Nottingham from the south-west. Title centre bottom "NOTTINGHAM" Bottom left "Plate 75 Engraved by J Walker from an Original Drawing by W Turner." Bottom right "Published Feb 28 1795 by J Walker No 16 Rosomans Street London" View of the city from south-west. In the foreground is a meandering waterway [River Leen?] left of the centre a single masted barge [?] with sail half-dismantled negotiates a narrow opening. In the centre are four men sitting or leaning on a horizontal tree trunk. Behind them is a bridge. On the far side of the river lies the city. The castle and castle rock occupy the left-hand side of the composition, the city is on the right with St Mary's church at the extreme right. Reverse in pencil "08-143 N.C.M.A " with the "A" added in red ink. Also 1496/7.
