"…1st of a series of Nottingham Park". Shows the Castle from the west and the undeveloped parkland. Black ink on cream ground. Ref NCM 1907 - 98. Ink on paper. Coloured - with a pole [printed?] Bust coloured 'wash' all over and some highlights left white. View of the Park looking towards the Castle. Full title - at the bottom: "To his Grace the Duke of Newcastle, // This Print being the first of a series of four views of NOTTINGHAM PARK, is most respectfully dedicated, // By his obedient servant, // Thos Forman" Above title, bottom left: "C. J Greenwood Delt & Lith" Bottom Centre: "Published by Thos Forman, 14 Long Row, Nottingham, October, 1850." Bottom right: "Printed by C Moody" A row of houses runs across the centre of the composition, at the top of the cliff, with the Castle on the right. To the right of the Castle is a glimpse of buildings beyond Castle- rock. In the foreground on the open grassland are people walking around, and cattle grazing. In the centre foreground is a man and a woman seated on a grassy bank.
