Pengaruh Kepadatan Traffic terhadap Tingkat Beban Kerja Air Traffic Controller di Approach Control Unit Yogyakarta
View through CrossRef
This study aims to determine the impact of air traffic density on the workload of Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs). The research was conducted at the Approach Control Unit (APP) of the AirNav Indonesia Yogyakarta Branch Office from January to April 2026 using a quantitative research approach. The study involved 25 Air Traffic Controllers selected as respondents. Data were collected using the NASA Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) questionnaire to measure perceived workload, while data analysis included validity, reliability, normality, and Pearson product-moment correlation tests. The findings are expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between air traffic density and the workload experienced by Air Traffic Controllers. Increased traffic density is assumed to contribute to higher mental, physical, and temporal demands, which may influence controller performance and operational effectiveness. The results of this study are intended to serve as a reference for determining appropriate workload distribution and staffing requirements based on traffic conditions. Furthermore, the findings are expected to support decision-making in air traffic management, enhance the quality of air navigation services, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen aviation safety by minimizing the risk of incidents and achieving the goal of near-zero aviation accidents.
