Fattening and slaughtering qualities of pigs using the feed additive “Kormocid”

View through CrossRef
The article presents data on the fattening and slaughtering qualities of pigs under the action of the feed additive “Kormocid”. The additive includes five organic acids (formic, propionic, lactic, citric, ascorbic). The sum of organic acids in the finished product is not less than 50 %. The studied feed additive-acidifier “Kormocid” is produced by SE “Enzym”, Ukraine. It was established that feeding the feed additive to fattening pigs at a dose of 1,0 kg/1t of compound feed is the most effective in terms of its effect on growth rate and slaughter performance of fattening pigs. The scientific experiment was conducted on 48 crossbred pigs (Large White x Landrace) 69 days old. The experimental pigs were divided into 4 groups (control and three experimental) of 12 animals each. The study lasted 100 days and consisted of 2 periods of equalization (15 days) and main (85 days). When forming the groups, the following factors were taken into account: age, live weight of animals, origin, sex, productivity, growth rate of pigs, etc. Feeding the compound feed “Growera” in combination with the drug “Kormocid” at a dose of 1,0 kg/1 ton of compound feed contributes to an increase in the live weight of pigs by 4,6 %, an increase in average daily gains by 11,5 % compared to control analogues. The introduction of the acidifier “Kormocid” in a dose of 1.0 kg/1t of compound feed to pigs during the feeding period of compound feed “Finisher” allows to increase the level of average daily gains by 13.2 % and live weight of animals by 8.2 % and reduce feed costs per unit of gain and increase payment for feed by gain. The results of the control slaughter of experimental pigs showed that the experimental acidifier in a dose of 1.0 kg/1t of compound feed provided an increase in slaughter weight and slaughter yield by 14.7 and 4.4 %, respectively. Feeding compound feed to pigs with the addition of an acidifier allows to reduce the thickness of the fat above the 6-7th thoracic vertebra by 1.9 mm (P < 0.05) and increase the area of the “muscle eye” by 2.3 cm² (P < 0.05).

Title: Fattening and slaughtering qualities of pigs using the feed additive “Kormocid”
Description:
The introduction of the acidifier “Kormocid” in a dose of 1.
0 kg/1t of compound feed to pigs during the feeding period of compound feed “Finisher” allows to increase the level of average daily gains by 13.
2 % and live weight of animals by 8.
2 % and reduce feed costs per unit of gain and increase payment for feed by gain.
The results of the control slaughter of experimental pigs showed that the experimental acidifier in a dose of 1.
0 kg/1t of compound feed provided an increase in slaughter weight and slaughter yield by 14.
7 and 4.
4 %, respectively.
Feeding compound feed to pigs with the addition of an acidifier allows to reduce the thickness of the fat above the 6-7th thoracic vertebra by 1.
9 mm (P < 0.
05) and increase the area of the “muscle eye” by 2.
3 cm² (P < 0.
05).
