IMPACT OF REFRIGERANT LEAKS ON CLIMATE CHANGE

View through CrossRef
Refrigerant leaks have a big effect on climate change because they release strong greenhouse gases (GHGs) that trap a lot of heat in the atmosphere. These gases, like R-134a and R-410a are especially harmful because they have a high Global Warming Potential (GWP), which means they can cause more warming than carbon dioxide. These leaks contribute to climate change in two ways: by directly releasing the gas into the air and by making refrigeration systems work harder, which increases energy use and emissions. This makes it even more important to switch to refrigerants with lower GWP to fix leaks quickly with better detection and maintenance methods. Refrigerant leaks not only harm the environment but can also cost people money. Refrigerant leaks not only harm the environment but can also cost people money. Title: IMPACT OF REFRIGERANT LEAKS ON CLIMATE CHANGE
Description:
If leaks are not found and fixed early, can lead to higher energy bills.
In reality, leaks are not easy to spot or to fix, and we often only notice them when the energy bills go up.
Refrigeration leaks have a major impact on the environment and can cause serious health issues.
Some common refrigerants like R-410a and R-134a are widely used in heating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
These substances are powerful greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.
