Abstract Latinx Literature: A Very Short Introduction presents a concise scholarly exploration of a diverse and evolving literary field shaped by transhemispheric exchange and cultural exchange. It frames Latinx literature not as a fixed canon but as a dynamic continuum emerging from Indigenous traditions, colonial chronicles, migration, memory, and political resistance. This VSI synthesizes Luis Aldama’s account of writers of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, Central American, and South American descent working across multiple genres. It highlights poets, novelists, dramatists, and graphic storytellers who actively respond to specific historical and cultural conditions. Finally, it defines Latinx literature as resilient and transformative.
