Գիրքը նվիրված է հայ-մամլուքյան քաղաքական և դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների ուսումնասիրության համար կարևորություն ներկայացնող մամլուքյան պատմագրության արաբալեզու սկզբնաղբյուրներին։ Հետազոտության հիմնական մասում ներկայացված են թարգմանական քաղվածքներ Մամլուքյան պետության գահին նստած երեք սուլթանների օրոք արքունի դիվանապետի պաշտոնը զբաղեցրած Մուհի ալ-Դին իբն Աբդ ալ-Զահիրի երկերից, որոնք արժեքավոր տեղեկություններ են պարունակում Կիլիկյան Հայաստանի 1260-1292 թվականների պատմության բազմաթիվ դրվագների վերաբերյալ։ Հեղինակն իր հաղորդումների մեծ մասը շարադրել է որպես իրադարձությունների անմիջական մասնակից և ականատես։
