A vase made of crystal glass, the so-called cristallo using the sommerso technique, i.e. the color of glass embedded in a different color. There are 3 layers in the vase: a large bubble of dark red inside, a strip of yellow color and a transparent one on the outside. The sommerso technique uses at least two layers of glass: colored inside and transparent outside. The more layers that are clearly cut off from each other, the more valuable the object is.To obtain the yellow color of the glass, cadmium, sulfur and titanium oxides are used. The red color of the glass is obtained with the help of copper, selenium and gold oxides.Thick, heavy glass. The bottom of the vase is not polished, which indicates its Italian origin.
